A nationwide thermal drone pilot network
People searching for a missing dog or cat can use Drone Animal Rescue to find thermal drone pilots across the United States. The network includes more than 275 pilots. The app shows who is listed near the search and the contact information they have published.
- Pilot listings across the country for lost pet searches
- Thermal drone searches when a pilot can fly
- Help organizing a search for a lost dog or missing cat
- Nearby pilot contact information inside the app
- Tools to record sightings and follow a search plan
A pin on the map does not mean a pilot can launch right away. Weather, daylight, and that pilot’s schedule still decide whether a flight can happen.
Track every sighting
Record where a lost dog or cat was seen. The sighting tracker keeps those locations on a map so you can see the order of reports and look for a possible path.
AI lost pet search guidance
Answer a few questions about the missing pet and the app suggests where to search, how far to go, and what a lost dog or cat often does in the first hours. The guidance is a plan to follow. It is not a promise the pet will be found.

Drone Animal Rescue runs the app and the pilot map. Listings are pilots who can be contacted from the information they published. A thermal camera helps a pilot look for a warm shape. It works better when the pet is warmer than the ground around it, the view is not blocked by thick cover, and the weather is safe to fly. The app helps organize the search. It does not guarantee a recovery.
Questions about thermal drone pet recovery
Can a thermal drone find a lost dog?
It can help a pilot look for a dog that is warmer than the ground, grass, or pavement around it. Thick woods, tall grass, rain, and a small temperature difference make that harder. A thermal flight is a search tool, not a guarantee the dog will be found.
How do I find a thermal drone pilot near me?
Download Drone Animal Rescue and open the pilot map. The map shows pilots listed near the search and the contact information they have published.
How much does a thermal drone pet recovery search cost?
The app is free to download. Pilots set their own rates for a flight. Use the contact information in the app to ask what a search would cost before anyone flies.
Can thermal drones locate missing cats?
Yes. Thermal drones are especially good at finding lost cats. A missing cat usually hides and will not come when called, but its body heat still shows up on a thermal camera. A pilot can search yards, fields, tree lines, and brush much faster than someone on foot, which is why a thermal drone works so well for a lost cat.
When is the best time to search with a thermal drone?
The best time is in the dark, or when there is enough cloud cover. Darkness and clouds keep the sun from heating the ground, so a lost pet's body heat stands out much more clearly on the thermal camera.
